The Border Collie has gone to #31 from #38 in the Most Popular List of Dogs in the AKC. It has been gaining popularity since 1995 when the AKC recognized it as a Breed. The Border Collie is a Working Dog. It is very quick to learn and very energetic but will slow down for those loyal dog loving moments of cuddles and kisses. My Border Collie & Australian Shepherd mix was very determined to stay between myself and any boyfriends. They had to win her over as well. When cattle were no longer on the hills by my house we had sheep. She did a little herding of them while we walked the hills but she had more fun herding me, and tripping me, dang dog!
